El Ultimo Participante

Age: 24
Origin: Manila
Occupation: Model
Greatest fear/s: cockroach, feeding on insects

Jommy grew up in the streets of Manila and made fun of his classmates and cracked a lot of jokes. He liked making people laugh. He was an easy-going person who frequently got whatever he wanted, especially the girls. Jommy was called an ‘alaskador’ and ‘playboy’ by his peers.

But fate played a funny trick on him when, after getting drunk, he woke up in bed with a married woman beside him. Although he was sure nothing happened, the woman’s relatives bea him senseless. From then on, Jommy valued his second chance at life and vowed to change. He is no longer the known playboy but Jommy kept his humorous side with him.

Jommy used his talent in making people laugh to his advantage during the contest. Watch out for his wise cracks to distract the other Participantes. For his family, Jommy is determined to emerge as the first El Ultimo Participante of Pinoy Fear Factor.

After numerous grueling challenges, Jommy Teotico bested 11 other bets to win ABS-CBN’s “Pinoy Fear Factor: Argentina, South America” Friday, February 20.

The 24-year-old model won a cool P2 million, a house and lot and the title "El Ultimo Participante" after defeating Janna Dominguez in the show's "Car Roll Over" challenge.

In the final challenge, both contestants were required to drive a car over a ramp that would explode, flipping the car over at least once. The participante that brought his car farthest from the ramp wins the contest.

In the end, Teotico's driving expertise gave him the edge in the final challenge as his car flipped and settled more than 22 meters away from the ramp compared to Dominguez's record of 17 meters and 10 centimeters.

Teotico earned the moniker "Scorpion King" after eating 20 scorpions in one of the PFF challenges. He also earned the respect and admiration of other contestants after setting a Fear Factor world record in the Car Re-Entry stunt.

Finally, Pinoy Fear Factor concluded their program.. Congratulations Jommy! El Ultimo Participante...! ang galing talaga ng Pinoy!

how about you guys out there, can you do it? kaya mo ba yon...?, tell us about your opinion with the winner and how it inspire you as a Filipino.

12 Participantes

hosted by Ryan Agoncillo

So far the Pinoy Fear Factor 12 Participantes as they are officially called had not been fully revealed with the exception of celebrities Phoemela Barranda and LJ Moreno. Sources say that Riza Santos is also a part of Pinoy Fear Factor. Others are semi-celeb (if there is such a thing) like Ram Sagad, Century Tuna Superbodies 2007 Winner/Welcoat basketball player; Gail Nicolas, Marian Rivera look-alike and Mossimo Bikini Summit 2007 Winner; and a certain Janna Dominguez, who is said to be a former Wowowee host.

Some ordinary folks with colorful presents and pasts are also Pinoy Fear Factor Participantes like: Savanah – described as a ledge dancer; RJ – a stevedore with two kids from Tarlac; Elmer – a vet; Jose – a culinary student; Manuel – a balikbayan from Australia; Marion Dela Cruz – a challenger from Tarlac ( and resides in Vienna, Austria); and Jommy – a model.

In the auditions held nationwide, PFF hopefuls were asked to perform some small stunts and had to undergo physical and psychological examinations. Knowing how to swim and drive was also a strict requirement. There were also some contestants who failed to meet particular clauses in the contract hence had to back out, which further extended the selection process to almost two months.

The 12 participantes left at the end of August and stayed in Argentina for a month. The first winner of Pinoy Fear Factor: South America takes home P2 million in cash and a house and lot worth P2.5 million from Avida. EcoQuest intl could have been a sponsor of this event too.

History

Pinoy Fear Factor is a franchise reality show on ABS-CBN that started airing on November 10, 2008 and is expected to run until February of 2009 for 15 weeks [1]. Pinoy Fear Factor is based on the Dutch reality game show Now or Neverland and is produced by Endemol. It is hosted by Filipino actor-host Ryan Agoncillo. The Philippines is the 30th country to use Buenos Aires, Argentina as the location of the series. [1]. Other Fear Factor hubs are located in South Africa and Serbia.[2]

Though the Philippine producers have plans to make the Philippines the next Fear Factor hub in the world,[3] they still decided to shoot the first series in Buenos Aires, Argentina where stunts experts and resources are readily available.[4][5]

The winner of the show will take home P2 Million (around US$50,000), a house and lot, and the title of "El Ultimo Participante" (The Ultimate Participant).[1] It uses the tagline Ang buhay sa likod ng katapangan or "Life behind bravery." The theme song of the show, which is entitled Tagumpay (Triumph), is performed by Chivas Malunda (a contestant of Pinoy Dream Academy season 2).[6]

Sister channel Studio 23 airs a condensed one-hour Saturday edition, covering the episodes shown within the week.

From December 22 to 26 and December 29 to 31, 2008, a special set of year-end episodes, known as Pinoy Fear Factor: With A Twist, was aired. The episodes, narrated by ABS-CBN's comedic news reporter Marc Logan, showed a recap of scenes from the six previous rounds, as well as new interviews from the Participantes and never-before-seen clips within and outside of the competition.
